Overview
The B777 fuel system stores and distributes fuel from three main tanks: Left Main, Center, and Right Main. Override/jettison pumps, boost pumps, and crossfeed valves ensure continuous fuel supply under all conditions.
Key Components
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| Main Tanks (L/R) | Primary fuel storage, each with two boost pumps |
| Center Tank | Additional fuel capacity, two override/jettison pumps |
| Crossfeed Valve | Allows either engine to draw from opposite tank |
| Fuel Jettison | Dump fuel to reduce landing weight (nozzles in wing tips) |
Fuel Management
- Center tank fuel is consumed first via override pumps
- Main tank boost pumps provide continuous fuel pressure
- FUEL IN CENTER EICAS advisory indicates center tank fuel remaining
- Crossfeed enables single-engine operation from either tank
