In Flight → Go to Step 2

- A/T ARM switch (affected side) … Confirm … OFF
- Thrust lever (affected side) … Confirm … Idle
- FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side) … Confirm … CUTOFF
- Engine fire switch (affected side) … Confirm … Pull
- If the FIRE ENG message shows: Engine fire switch (affected side) … Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
Reference Items 🟢
- Step 7: If after 30 seconds, the FIRE ENG message shows:
- Engine fire switch (affected side) … Rotate to the other stop and hold for 1 second
- Step 8: APU selector (if APU available) … START, then ON
- Step 9: Transponder mode selector … TA ONLY
- Step 10: Plan to land at the nearest suitable airport.
- Step 11: Do not accomplish the following checklist: AUTOTHROTTLE
Step 12: Landing Configuration
Choose one:
Landing using flaps 20:
- GND PROX FLAP OVRD switch … OVRD
- Use flaps 20 and VREF 20 for landing, flaps 5 for go-around
- Check Non-Normal Configuration Landing Distance tables for ENG SHUTDOWN L, R (Performance Inflight-QRH or other approved source)
Landing using flaps 30 (if performance allows):
- Use flaps 30 and VREF 30 for landing, flaps 20 for go-around
- Check Non-Normal Configuration Landing Distance tables for ENG SHUTDOWN L, R
On the Ground → Go to Step 13
- Step 13: Thrust levers (both) … Idle
C - Step 14: PARKING BRAKE … Set
C - Step 15: Advise the cabin
C - Step 16: FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side) … CUTOFF
C - Step 17: Engine fire switch (affected side) … Pull
F/O - Step 18: If the FIRE ENG message shows:
- Engine fire switch (affected side) … Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
F/O
- Engine fire switch (affected side) … Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
- Step 19: Choose one:
- Evacuation is needed → Go to Evacuation checklist
- Evacuation is not needed → Go to Step 20
- Step 20: Advise the cabin

Notes & Gotchas
- Confirm the affected side before pulling the fire switch — wrong side = catastrophic
- After step 11, do NOT run the AUTOTHROTTLE checklist
